In wind tunnel tests it has proved exceedingly accurate from 10-50 knots, more than holding its own with instruments many times its price. Despite its light weight it is very robust and will withstand being immersed. A sensitive needle registers on a scale reading in Beaufort, m.p.h., knots and metres/second.
